Discover the cultural and natural heritage of the border region on the European Green Belt along the Iron Curtain by bicycle. We invite you to get to know the cultural and natural attractions by bike along both banks of the Morava River on the Slovak-Austrian border. Thanks to the open border crossings and the compa between Slovakia and Austria (Moravský Svätý Ján - Hohenau, Záhorská Ves - Angern an der March, Devínska Nová Ves - Schloss Hof, Jarovce - Kitsse and Petržalka - Berg) you can comfortably cross from one side to the other. The KTM cycle route (Kamp - Thaya - March) leads through the green belt on the Austrian side, and on the Slovak territory, the EuroVelo 13 (Iron Curtain Route) route leads directly along the former border guard signal. The KTM cycle route is one of the most beautiful long-distance cycle routes in Austria. At more than 400 kilometers, you will find everything that can break the heart of every cyclist: Perfect training alternates with pleasant enjoyable cycling. Along the three rivers you will encounter not only fascinating untouched natural scenery, but also many cultural and historical monuments. KTM Kamp-Thaya-March passes through the Waldviertel and Weinviertel areas in Lower Austria. Thanks to the European Union and the Regional Development Fund, the cross-border project Discover Culture and Nature on the Green Belt was created. The aim of the project is to discover and better make available the natural and cultural wealth on the Green Belt through environmentally friendly cycling. The green belt represents the backbone of a unique combination of natural and cultural heritage, which will serve as a living monument to history for future generations.
